WDs will offer more than 1,700 fine wines and extensive selection of craft beers and distilled spirits
Four weeks after confirming plans for the first-ever Winn-Dixie stand-alone liquor store, Jacksonville-based parent company Southeastern Grocers released details about the new concept, including its name: WDs.
The WDs wine, beer and liquor store concept will be the first in Winn-Dixie’s Southeast footprint, company officials said Tuesday in a news release.
The 8,640-square-foot liquor store at 4472 Hendricks Ave. in Miramar Center will showcase an extensive selection of fine wines, craft beers and premier distilled spirits.
Expected to open in time for the holidays, WDs is designed to offer customers a unique interactive shopping experience that includes a wine tasting station offering a rotating selection of 10 wines on tap so customers can sip various vintages as they shop.
In addition to offering more than 1,700 fine wines, the store also will feature a “massive Beer Cave” with international, domestic and local craft beer selections. A wide-ranging selection of distilled spirits will be accompanied by a mixology section.
Construction is already underway at the liquor store, which is located at the south end of Miramar Center, home to Players Grille sports bar, Toscana Little Italy, Open Road Bicycles and more.
